Why did you choose Fisher College?

Fisher College was one of my late decision schools. As a very competitive High School Choral singer apart of the Texas All State Choir took a majority of my time but plans fell through. It had always been a dream of mine to play college basketball and I found Fisher College. Coach Lindberg gave me the opportunity to come visit the campus and that sold it for me. The city of Boston is the nicest and coolest cities I have ever been to. The small campus is something that really fits for me as well. I have no regrets with my decision to move from Plano, TX to Boston, MA it has been something I will encourage anybody to do.

What is it like being a Student-Athlete on campus?

Fisher is a very small school of only about 750 students so being an athlete on campus is a great thing. The campus does tremendous things for the athletes and all students recognize us and know we represent them on the court and off it. With a small team of only 15 guys it is nice to walk through the halls and have the students know that those are the "Basketball Players." The best thing about a student athlete is representing basketball by wearing it on our back, it is an honor to wear the Fisher Falcon on travel day, on campus, and even in practice.

What has been the most memorable moment?

I can speak for my whole team by saying the most memorable moment of my Fisher basketball career is winning the Sunrise Conference Tournament and going to the NAIA National Tournament. The way we were treated at the National Tournament was amazing, I felt like I was playing in the Final Four. Another one of my most memorable moments was spending my freshman year with one of the most powerful human beings I have ever met, Ryan "Jerz" Henry. It saddens me everyday when I step on that court and he is not there to push me and motivate me in the way he did. Nothing can compare to the love he had for our team and the love he had for the game. I know he is watching down on us and making sure we are all taking care of. The last memorable moment is having the privilege to travel to so many different places and see so many different things. I know half of the college programs out there don't get to travel as much as we do and I give credit to Coach Lindberg for that.

What have you been doing this summer in preparation for the upcoming season?

Summer has consisted of lots of work. I got lucky and got an internship at Park Place Mercedes-Benz Dallas and have loved every minute of it. It is a fabulous job for a college kid like me and I have taken it in stride. Working 8-5 Monday-Friday really opens your eyes to the real world.

On the Basketball side, I head to the gym with my father everyday after work. I have been working out on a strength and agility program. This workout usually takes about 2 hours.  After I work out I run or jog home which is about a two mile run to my house. This is used as a post workout cool down and is also good for conditioning purposes. On Tuesday nights I play in a Dallas basketball league and on Sunday nights I play in a Adult league here in Plano. Both of these leagues keep my skills going and also allow me to do things I don't do all the time. It has been a very productive summer so far and I look forward to finishing out the summer strong.

How has my game improved from year to year while playing at Fisher?

My game has improved drastically since being apart of the Fisher basketball program. My game has increased in speed as well as skill. The pace of a college basketball game is one of the hardest things to get used to and that is one of the advantages I can use all the time. Playing against the competitive guys we have on our team is something that pushes you every night during practice. There is never a dull moment during our practices this energy is something we hope to lead into game day.

What are your goals for the 2012-2013 season?

My goals for the 2012-2013 season are simple. We have to play as a team night in and night out and we WILL get to the National Championship. There is too much talent on our team to not get our first title. The other goals are winning the Independent Tournament. The goals I have for myself are, being able to contribute every night we step on the court. I set high standards for myself and push myself more than anybody else can. I want to help my teammates and help this program take it to the next level. This team will be making some noise in the NAIA this year.
