During a week-ending doubleheader versus the Skippers of St. Clair County College, Fisher College softball suffered a winless close. In the first game, the Falcons gave up two runs in the first inning but came back with three of their own. Jayla Vega (Hoboken, NJ) led off the game with a double. After both Emily Smith (Oxford, NY) and Morgan Selmi (Rohnert Park, CA) were hit by pitches, Jade Bracero (Hoboken, NJ) stepped up with a double that scored both Smith and Vega.
The Falcons added another run in the first when Selmi scored on a grounder by Jordan Smith (Bethel, CT). The Falcons gave up the lead to SC4 College in the top of the second inning when they brought seven runs across. The Falcons answered back with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead with a RBIs by Jordan Smith, Murphy Carroll (Methuen, MA), Vega, Mikayla Zimmerman (Corona, CA), and two from Bracero. SC4 tied the game in the fifth on a pass ball and took the lead in the sixth inning with five more runs. SC4 managed an insurance run in the top of the seventh. The Falcons late-inning rally was stopped with a double play to end the game.
In the second game, the Falcons kept up the offense from the Game 1 with four runs in the top of the first inning, including a three-run home run by Zimmerman after a double by Selmi put two Falcons into scoring position. Skippers started its offense in the third inning by scoring five runs to give them the lead. SC4 then added two more runs in the fourth and broke open the game with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. The Falcons ended the road trip winless but found the offense in the final day.
