LYNN, MASS. – Senior Vance Serrano (Las Vegas, Nev.) spun a complete game shutout in game one to propel the Fisher College Baseball team to a double-header sweep of visiting Bryant & Stratton College – Albany this afternoon inside the friendly confines of Fraser Field.

The pair of wins lift the Falcons to an overall record of 21-18, their seventh consecutive season of 20+ wins – not including the covid shortened 2020 season. Meanwhile, the Bobcats are now 8-10 after the first day of games in the commonwealth. The wins also secure a season series win for Fisher as they took two of three from the Bobcats in Albany earlier this month.

Game One: Fisher College 1, Bryant & Stratton College – Albany 0 (Final)

Serrano's effort on the mound combined with junior Gabriel Rivera (Miramar, Fla.) RBI triple in the second, was enough to sneak past the Bobcats in the series opener, 1-0.

Serrano was dazzling all afternoon as the veteran right-hander improved to 6-3 on the season. The Las Vegas native used only 96 pitches to get through seven clean frames. Serrano allowed just three hits while striking out five and issuing four free passes.

In the second inning, sophomore Jatnier Torres (Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico) reached base via a hit by pitch, stole second and with two outs, Rivera smashed a triple to deep right-center to give the Falcons a lead they would not relinquish.

BSCA's Ruben Perez suffered the tough luck loss as the right-hander pitched six innings of one-run ball. Perez struck out five and allowed just one walk on his 90-pitch outing.

Game Two: Fisher College 10, Bryant & Stratton College – Albany 6 (Final)

Fisher scored four runs over the final two innings to capture a thrilling 10-6 nightcap win.

Clinging to a one-run lead in the fifth, Rivera once again led the charge as he belted his 3rd home run of the season – a deep drive into the left-field parking lot – to give the Falcons some insurance for the win.

Junior Maylo Sierra (Bartlesville, Okla.) tossed two innings of clutch relief for his third save of the season. The right-hander allowed one unearned run on three hits and struck out three. He came in after senior William DeGracia (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) surrendered five runs (four earned) over five innings of work. DeGracia is now 6-3 on the season.

Senior Jose Aybar (Santo Domingo, D.R.) tied the game in the second inning with two RBI single to right. The following inning, freshman Ian Cabrera (Phoenix, Ariz.) cleared the bases with a triple to right-center which gave the Falcons a 6-2 lead at the time.

Rivera would tack on a RBI walk in the sixth while sophomore Fernando Verde (Miami, Fla.) knocked in a pair with a single through the right-side to conclude the 10-run offensive effort.

Cabrera finished the contest going 2-for-2 with three RBI and Verde also collected a pair of hits as he finished 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The Bobcats had three different student-athletes record multi-hit games with Luis Monte De Oca being the leader going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Odilio Cespedes was 2-for-3 and Tim Thomas finished 2-for-4 at the plate.

Allen Reynoso was credited with the loss on the hill as the right-hander gave up six runs over three innings on five walks and striking out one.
