Connecticut College Soars Past Fisher, 68-58

Boston, MA (January 28, 2014)Tyler Shular (Norwalk, CT) scored a game high 21 points but the Fisher College Falcons dropped a NCAA-NAIA cross over matchup with Connecticut College, 68-58, Tuesday evening at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Massachusetts.

The loss drops the Falcons to 11-14 on the season (11-14/0-0 A.I.I) while the Camels of Connecticut College improve to 8-8 (8-8/ 1-3 NESCAC).

Connecticut College was paced by senior forward Matt Vadas' (Spring Lake Heights, N.J) 21 points and 11 rebounds. The 6'4" guard went 8 for 18 from the floor and 3 for 12 from behind the arc. Senior Mason Lopez (Hoboken, NJ) was the only other Camel to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points on 3 of 9 shooting.

Fisher trailed 29-24 at the break after the Falcons managed just 29% from the field (11-38).  Connecticut College faired slighting better, shooting 38% (11-29).

Over the course of the 40 minutes, Fisher managed to out rebound the visitors, 40-38, but surrendered 13 second chance points while only scoring 10 of their own. Connecticut's advantage came from its bench scoring, out producing the Falcons 20-3, including seven points from freshman guard Alex Hall (Durham, NC).

The Falcons return to action Sunday, February 2nd when they host Washington Adventist at 2:00PM while Connecticut College hosts Tufts University Friday, January 31st at 8:00PM.
