Lady Falcons Fall in Double Header to NEC

Boston, MA.

Game 1-

New England College gained an early lead in the top of the first when they scored a run off a Fisher error. New England College added three more runs in the top of the second with runs batted in by sophomore Taylor Belsito and freshman Kiley Williams.  The Lady Falcons added a run in the bottom of the second when junior Michelle Fabiano (Nashua, NH) scored when Freshman Nicole Messere (Attleboro, MA). In the top of the sixth, New England College added two more run Belsito hit a two-run triple to right center. The Pilgrims add another one in the top of the seventh inning with a run batted in double by freshman Brittney Distante.

Freshman Jayla Vaga (Hoboken, NJ) gained the loss throwing a complete game and giving up seven runs (4 earn)

 

Game 2-

New England College powered ten runs in the top of the first inning, while Fisher add their only run when Freshman Jayla Vaga (Hoboken, NJ) smacked a triple down the left field line, she scored on a pass ball from third base. New England College didn't look back as they scored nine more runs in each of the second and third inning to go up by a very large margin and added one more run in the top of the fourth. The final score of the game was 29-1 in favor of New England College.

Senior Kaleigh Gilbert (Lawrence, MA) gained the loss for the Lady Falcons going a third of an inning and giving nine runs (eight earned).

The Lady Falcons will travel for a 3-game series against SUNY-Canton on Saturday and Sunday April 20th and 21th with a start time of 1 pm on Saturday.
