Lawrenceville, GA – The Falcons dropped two games to Georgia Gwinnett College (35-0, 18-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Grizzly Softball Complex. Fisher drops to 0-5 on the season while GGC improves to 6-2 on the season.
In game 1, the Falcons had two hits in the game, a single by junior pitcher Jayla Vega (Hoboken, NJ) and a double by sophomore shortstop Morgan Selmi (Petaluma, CA). Fisher's strongest inning was the first inning when the team had bases loaded for the first time, but couldn't produce runs.
The Grizzlies' bats came alive while racking up 31 hits. Both teams committed two errors in the game, but Fisher couldn't manage to heat up their bats.
Game 2
In the second game, GGC sophomore Chelsi Palazzo recorded a no-hitter as Fishers bats remained ice cold. Vega pitched her fourth game of the weekend, recording one strikeout and golding the Grizzlies to just 17 hits in the second game.
Chrissy Briggs (Rumford, ME) had a great defensive day in the second game having three put-outs for the Falcons despite the Grizzlies offensive dominance. Jade Bracero (Hoboken, NJ) was the lone base runner drawing a walk, but teammates could not help bring her around to score.
Fisher is scheduled to hit the road again later this week heading to Portsmouth, OH, to take on Shawnee State in two doubleheaders on February 28 and March 1.
