Chestnut Hill, Mass.—The Fisher College Falcons earned two wins over the Pine Manor Gators on a Monday afternoon in an NAIA-NCAA cross matchup.  The Falcons won 8-0 in five innings and 13-0 in five innings.

Junior Tori Park led off the first inning with a walk and then was moved over to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Morgan SelmiKristina Brown then doubled to right centerfield, easily plating Park to take a 1-0 lead.  Mikayla Zimmerman then reached first on an error by the shortstop, which in turn plated Brown to take a 2-0 lead.  The Gators retired the next two batters to end the Falcon first inning threat.

Gators' first batter walked, but Zimmerman fanned the next batter and then turned a smooth double-play to end the bottom half of the first inning.  The Falcons were blanked in the second inning, but then got the Gators to go 1-2-3 in the bottom half.

Selmi led off the top of the third inning with a single followed by a Brown single to left field.  Zimmerman then doubled to right field plating both Selmi and Brown to take a 4-0 lead over the Gators.  Pine Manor offense started the bottom of the third innings slow with the first batter popping up to the pitcher.  The next batter doubled, but the Fisher defense ended that quickly retiring the next two batters.

The Falcons piled on four more runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 8-0 lead.  Maria Rivera singled through the left side, but was out on a fielder's choice putting Park on first base with one out.  Selmi then singled putting runners on first and second, still with one out.  Brown reached on an error by the right fielder and moved over to second on the error; Park scored and Selmi moved to third base.  Zimmerman then singled scoring both Selmi and Brown to take a 7-0 lead.  Bases were then loaded with two outs threatening the Gator defense.  Luz Evangelista was hit by a pitch bringing in another Falcons run to take the 8-0 lead in the 4th inning.

The Falcons defense got the Gators to go 1-2-3 in the bottom half of the fourth leaving them without a run through four innings.  In the fifth inning, the Falcons left one runner stranded bringing up the Gators for their final chance at the plate.  The Falcons defense was too much for the Gators as Fisher got the offense to go down 1-2-3 ending the game in five innings.

The second game started off with the Falcons' hot bats from the first game.  Park singled to right centerfield and advanced to second when Selmi was hit by a pitch.  Both Selmi and Park scored on an error by the catcher as she tried to pick of Park at third base putting the Falcons up 2-0.  The Falcons continued to put the bat to the ball, but couldn't push another run across in the first.

In the bottom half of the first inning two Gator runners earned their way on the bases, one singled to left field and advanced to second on an error.  The next batter reached on an error by first baseman Cassy Pillard, putting runners at first and third.  A line out double play to Brown put the Gator threat to an end.

The Falcons really exploded in the second inning scoring 10 runs on 4 hits.  Rivera led off the inning reaching first on an error.  Park then walked to put runners on first and second.  Brown then reached on a fielder's choice, plating Rivera to take a 3-0 lead.  Zimmerman walked plating Park to take a 4-0 lead.  Chrissy Briggs then walked plating Selmi with the Falcons taking a 5-0 lead.  Jade Bracero took another walk plating Brown from third giving the Falcons a 6-0 lead, forcing a pitching change for the Gators.  Evangelista then singled plating two more runs and continuing the Falcons run with one out, Falcons lead 8-0.

Rivera stepped to the plate for the second time in the inning singling to left field scoring Bracero to take an 9-0 lead over the Gators.  Park singled to load the bases again for the Falcons with one out.  Selmi reached on a fielder's choice, Park out at second base, but another run crossed the plate to take a 10-0 lead.  Brown then doubled to left field plating another two runs to take a 12-0 lead over the Gators.

Both teams were blanked the next inning and a half before the Falcons scored their last and final run of the game in the top of the fourth inning.  Selmi led off with a double then scored on a Zimmerman single to right field.  The Falcons were then blanked to close the inning out.  Pine Manor was blanked with a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 4th inning.

The Falcons threatened in the top of the 5th inning, but were quickly shut down.  Pine Manor went down 1-2-3 in the 5th inning to complete the game 13-0.  Zimmerman earned both wins in the circle fanning seven total batters.

The Falcons will return to action tomorrow, Tuesday April 12 when they play host to Gordon College.  First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. at Breed Field in Lynn, Mass.
