Ditren earns AMC Pitcher of the Week honors
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Point Park outfielder Phil Navatsyk and Fisher pitcher Carlos Ditren have been selected the AMC Baseball Players of the Week for March 26 through April 1.
Navatsyk, a 5-foot-9 sophomore from Chardon, Ohio, is the AMC Player of the Week. He guided the NAIA No. 9 Pioneers to a four-game conference sweep of Houghton with a .600 batting average.
Navatsyk hit safely in all four games by going 6-for-10 with four RBI's. He walked twice, stole a base, and scored two runs.
Point Park is 28-3 overall and 4-0 AMC.
Ditren, a six-foot freshman righthander from Lawrence, Mass., is the AMC Pitcher of the Week. He was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two appearances for the Falcons.
Ditren's highlight was getting the win in a 4-2 AMC decision over Walsh. He allowed two earned runs on three hits in five innings with four strikeouts.
Fisher is 10-18 overall and 1-3 AMC.
