Men's Basketball Adds Six Student-Athletes

Boston, MA – Coach Dave Lindberg has announced the signing of six new members to the men's basketball program here at Fisher.  Coming of an 8-20 season, the Falcons will look to rebound an compete in the newly structured Association of Independent Institutions Conference.  Lindberg's Falcons will open up the regular season Wednesday, November 6th at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium against former Sunrise Conference rivals Vermont Tech.

The six new signees come from six different states and should provide quality depth to a squad eager for a breakout season.  Coach Lindberg, who enters his ninth season in charge of the Falcons, expects great things out of his incoming class. "We were able to add depth to multiple positions this year," stated Lindberg, "all these guys should be able to contribute in many different ways."

Ira Haywood (6-1) Guard: Las Vegas, NV.  (Communications Major)- Transfer from Highline Community College in Des Moines, WA.  In his last season at Highline averaged 10 ppg, 4 apg and 1 spg.  "Ira is an extremely heady player who can provide a spark at either guard position.  Can shoot the 3 as well as get to the rim.  I am extremely excited to have a player of his ability and experience coming in".

Joe Calub (5-8) Point Guard: Hayward, CA. (Management Major): Averaged 10 ppg, 6 apg and 3 spg in senior campaign at Moreau Catholic.  Finished in the top 25 in the state of California in assists as a senior while receiving all-league honors.  "I am excited to add another old-school point guard to our roster.  Joe thrives in the open court and takes pride in getting everyone involved.  Can shoot the three as well as get into the paint".

Onesimus (OJ) Moore (6-3) Guard/Forward: Houston, TX. (Management Major): Transfer from Bethel College in KS.  Appeared in 28 games, starting 16 during his sophomore season.  Averaged 5 ppg and 4 rpg.  OJ has good size for a wing and is a solid athlete.  He is extremely strong on the drive, although can shoot with range also.  Shot a solid 42% from the field in 2012-13.  "OJ will be a nice fit on our campus and in our program.  Based on what we have seen so far, he is will be a very solid addition to our team."

Tim Murphy (6-5) Forward: Fort Lauderdale, FL. (Criminal Justice Major): Averaged a double-double during his senior season at Fort Lauderdale High School, posting 12 ppg and 10 rpg a night.  Tim does all the dirty work that every team needs, rebounding, taking charges and outworking other post players.  In 2012 was selected to the AAU All-tournament team.  "We are excited to have a player like Tim coming in.  He has a great motor and is willing to do all of the things that make a team successful.  He will be a great fit on our campus and in our program".

Mark Houston (6-6) Forward: Philadelphia, PA. (Management Major): Averaged 19 ppg, 11 rpg and 4 bpg during his final season at Penn Titusville University.  Mark is a solid athlete who thrives on the defensive end.  "Mark will add athleticism to our team at the forward position.  He is a strong rebounder who can control the offensive and defensive glass."

Juwan Harris (6-6) Forward: Anchorage, AK. (Human Services Major): Transfer from Highline Community College.  Juwan is an agile post with great size.  Comes from a solid Junior College on the West Coast, and has played against some very solid competition.  Averaged 6 ppg and 5 rpg during his second season at Highline.
